I’ve got two stories for you!
The first time I saw This Providence, I was so drunk that I didn’t even remember any of the songs, just that it was awesome and I danced a lot. Apparently I accosted David and told him something along the lines of “I bet I’d like your band even when I’m sober!” WHICH IS A BIG COMPLIMENT, OK? But anyway, since then I have managed to see them a handful of times and actually have legitimate conversations with all four of them, and they are all wonderfully nice people, and generous with the hugs and high-fives. :)
Secondly, just a couple weeks ago I saw them two days in a row on the Let’s Make A Mess tour, and after the first night some friends and I were talking to Dan about his tendency to accidentally kick anything people try to put on the edge of the stage - purses, sunglasses, etc. (He was like “Well, it’s my stage!” and we were like, this is very true.) But then the second night the venue had a portable fan sitting on the edge of the stage right in front of me and he kicked it over at least three times within the first few songs, and I would keep setting it upright, and Andy kept laughing at me but I didn’t want anyone to trip and die on it! But then Dan just took the fan and moved it to the side of the stage so he could rock out without worrying about it.
Which was awesome, until he (accidentally!) knocked my sunglasses off my head, and they flew all the way across to David’s side of the stage! Sean picked them up and almost took them away but I was like “NOOOOO” so instead David put them on, and then after the song handed them to my friend who gave them back to me :) Crisis averted!

I just love how Dan comes off as pretty mild-mannered in person as opposed to how wild he gets onstage! It’s kinda rad.

Ahahahahahaha. That is amazing. And don’t be sorry, you did give something to read and I loved it. It took my mind off the crazy pounding thats going on between my eyes right now. /: And Dan is a very mild-mannered person, I find it funny. His stage presence is totally different than it is when he’s around his fans. I think it’s cute. And that drunk comment up there made me LOL real hard. (: This was awesome, and which dates did you see them at? (:
